Channel Normalization on Jalan Danau Dampelas Reaches 63 Percent

The water channel normalization on Jalan Danau Dampelas, RT 18/04, Bendungan Hilir Urban Village, Tanah Abang has reached 63 percent. The work has been running by Central Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency since early January ago.

Tanah Abang Sub-district Water Resource Implementer Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari said the normalization is run to respond local resident's request since the area is often inundaten during heavy rain.

"Some of the plasters have broken and this causes the channel narrowing down," she said, Tuesday (2/4).

Channel Normalization on Jalan Arjuna Reaches 30 Percent

Eli explained the channel on Jalan Danau Dampelas has 60 cm of width, 80 cm height, and 140 m length.

"We deploy eight taskforce personnel for this work," she explained.

Eli added that the normalization is run by retracing the channel, installing u-ditch concrete and cober plate.

"Now the progres reaches 63 percent and hopefully it can finish in March," she added.

Meanwhile, one of local residents, Rahmat, appreciated the channel normalization in his area. He hopes the channel will funtion maximally.

"It is hoped the area will be free from inundation," he hoped.
